The aim of this series on Transformative Leadership is to promote debate on how higher education can contribute to positive change in the world, whether it means tackling social inequity, disempowerment, poverty or grand challenges such as climate change.

It includes challenging accepted notions of what higher education is about and how it can transform itself to meet the challenges of the world today.

It also includes thinking critically about what transformative leadership is really about, or should be about.

We are inviting readers of University World News to contribute commentary articles and comment on existing articles on this theme – and provide feedback on our coverage, to help us develop a high-quality debate.
