University resumes medical classes after two years of closure
Students of the faculty of medicine and general surgery at Al Daein University in East Darfur, Sudan, have resumed learning after nearly two years of disruption by war, reports Radio Tamazuj.Radhi Ahmed Mohamed, a student at the faculty of medicine, told Radio Tamazuj that the lectures began on Sunday and were continuing well. “The number of students was rising on a daily basis, since they heard about the resumption of lectures,” he said. Mohamed pointed out that the state was safe and stable and appealed to the rest of his colleagues to report for the lessons.
Sudanese universities closed following the beginning of the 15 April 2023 war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital and in several other states.
