NIGERIA: Conduct of examinations probed

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has begun a review of the conduct of examinations in Nigeria's universities, reports This Day.It is hoped that the review will help to fashion a new examinations agenda able to improve quality and reduce exams malpractice.

Many students and lecturers of some universities have appeared before the ICPC over their alleged roles in the conduct of examinations in universities. This may have prompted the commission's review.

According to a letter signed by secretary to the commission Dr TB Ingawa and addressed to the University of Ilorin, the ICPC seeks to know details of academic complaints mechanisms relating to university examinations.
